What FEAR do you have?
(fear, phobia, being scared, having anxiety, limiting beliefs)
We all have fear built into our DNA, mostly stemming from our childhood, past life or a traumatic experience. These fears can sometimes ruin our day-to-day life by causing us to avoid things that could benefit us, such as new experiences or opportunities. It can also lead to negative self-talk and anxiety, which can affect our overall mood and mental health.
In my life, I’ve faced many situations and experiences which eventually led to a form of fear.
Here are a few:
~I left my full-time job in 2015 to start my own business but my mum began stressing saying it’s going to be hard and I won’t find clients and will struggle to find a chokro as they don’t want an independent business woman in their life.
~My ex cheated on me and made me feel rejected and like I wasn’t good enough.
~During the pandemic, I became so comfortable being at home, I felt anxiety when going out out and having to meet with people.
~I felt like a failure and a disappointment after I got divorced.
~I had a lot of hair loss during the pandemic and felt like I was being judged for the way I looked.
How many can you relate to?
Sometimes we need a bit of help with facing our fears. Some fearful situations may not be as obvious as others but can certainly impact the decisions we make.
When I quit my fulltime job, my mum’s fears made me question my decision and feel like it was a journey of failure before it had even begun.
"Oh gosh, I’m never going to find a decent husband!".
"Oh gosh, how will I financially survive!".
"Oh gosh, I’m going to be a failure!".
"Oh gosh!"
But, by ignoring my mum’s fears, I’ve grown a beautiful business, have amazing clients and also have a lovely, supportive husband who loves his independent business wife. I just had to believe in myself. Sometimes, other people’s fears can also impact your life.
How can you help yourself and unblock our fears / phobias / anxiety?
Step 1 – Make a list! Be aware of what is holding you back from living your best life.
Step 2 – Ask Yourself! For each item on your list, ask yourself ‘how will my life look differently if I didn’t have this fear / phobia / anxiety?’ Your life choices for you, your partner, family, children, your business, all may look different without it.
Step 3 – Ask for help! Once you have identified this (and depending on the type of fear / phobia / anxiety), you can speak to your GP, a coach, an energy healer, a charity such a MIND or a hypnotherapist to help you on your journey of unblocking this.
Don't let the 'F' word control your life!
